Finalist in the Cliftons Art Prize

Very excited that my painting 'What lies beneath' has been shortlisted for the Cliftons Art Prize!  Congrats to the other 9 Brisbane artists who were also selected.

I had a wonderful time painting this piece - it now has such an interesting story that it seems to have taken on a life of it's own!  I want to also say a big thanks to the talented Tim Jones for his inspirational photography

My artist statement

"What lies beneath"

A man's fragility and imperfection (and sometimes even malice) can be masked, very adeptly, by a mischievous and boyish charm. Enabling disregard for the emotional and physical pain imposed on others. The solution is honesty, responsibility and vulnerability.
